What’s Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad. In addition to providing grants for individuals, Erasmus+ will support transnational partnerships among Education, Training and Youth institutions and organisations to foster cooperation and bridge the worlds of Education and work in order to tackle the skills gaps we are facing in Europe. It will also support national efforts to modernise Education, Training and Youth systems. In the field of Sport, there will be support for grassroots projects and cross-border challenges such as combating match-fixing, doping, violence and racism.

Specific objectives

Following this course the participants will:

 

  • Acquire knowledge and practical information about

EU policies and funding opportunities 2014-2020 (especially Erasmus+) through specific and project oriented learning sessions;

  • Improve practical skills related to process management of ideation and application (including how to

interpret correctly a call for proposal, how to design

and develop effective project ideas, how to fill in the

Application Form) through a cooperative compilation of the application forms and the analysis of successful projects;

  • Learn and get guidance on the preparation and

management of the application form, the budget and the contractual aspects through concrete examples and laboratories;

  • Design a project from the preparatory phase and the follow up;
  • Get in touch with individuals, professionals and organizations interested in developing European projects

through cooperation and specific actions;

  • Be aware of EU institutions through an overview on EU programmes 2014-2020 and new programme guides (including Erasmus+), new financial information of EU projects;
  • Improve relationship skills for working in group

and cooperating with different partners in an intercultural

environment;

  • Learn how to build successful partnerships with national

and international organizations;

  • Gain confidence with the tools learnt through simulations;
  • Acquire knowledge about successful projects and

best practices related to European funds;

  • Share experiences and points of view through intercultural

exchanges structured according to a problem

solving approach;

  • Spend a week in Rome with travel, accommodation and meal covered by the Erasmus+ Programme.

A hands-on approach: learning by doing

The methodology is highly practice-oriented. The training will avail itself of the Flipped Methodology, which relies on a social and constructive learning implemented by laboratories and educational games taking place in a collaborative context, with the teachers’ support. The trainers will make extensive use of evidence-based examples and experiences. Every day the concepts and methodologies studied will be associated to exercises and laboratories in order to make the participants immediately confident with the new tools. Interaction will be the key as the lessons will include sharing of experience, analysis of case studies, individual and team work, assignments, discussions, presentations, role games.

Who can apply

Apprentices or VET students (whose studies typically include work-based learning) from the country of the sending organisation. Accompanying persons of VET learners with special needs, minors, or disadvantaged backgrounds.

Recent graduates of a VET school or company (i.e. former apprentices) may also participate in the activity. Recent graduates must undertake their training placement abroad within one year of their graduation.

The Methodology

The training course is based on class-based learning modules (frontal teaching with a teacher/tutor in a computer room), and on laboratory-based learning modules. Each learner will receive a personal domain (third level) in order to publish and manage the web site and/or the blog created during the training course.

Specific Objectives

The training course provides the basic elements of the XHTML and CSS languages, and it focuses on the use of a Content Management System (CMS). The CSS (Cascade Style Sheets) is a technology which improves the formatting of a web site’s pages. A content management system is a software instrument installed on a web server, that facilitates the content management on websites. Moreover, the training course allows to acquire the competencies and useful instruments for photo editing, CMS publishing, basics on MYSQL database, and PHPMYADMIN.

General Objectives

The training course provides tools for a wide range of professions in the information and multimedia sectors.

Flipped Methodology?

The Flipped Methodology represents the most recent result of the planning activity realized in the LETS MIX UP project, dedicated to innovative informal learning. The new approach, through the dissemination of a blend methodology (elarning + LAB – classroom) aims to make the teacher/learners relationship more effective taking advantage of the class time to set up laboratories and experimental activities to stimulate active learning, creativity and critical thinking. Trainers are challenged to modify teaching methodologies as the web can offer contents in a more complete, holistic, updated, simple and economical way.

The course will support the trainers to:

  • strengthen practical e-skills for making and editing videos, and the use of social network for the e-learning;
  • adopt practices of collaborative learning;
  • adopt an approach based on learning outcomes suitable also for low-skilled learners;
  • develop a sensibility to the value of non-formal and informal learning, as a valid alternative for the learners less involved in the academic world, as well as at-risk groups;
  • acquire tools to stimulate creativity and innovation through the learning of new knowledge;
  • create and manage educational games.

The methodology

The training will use the Flipped methodology itself during the course. Exercises and laboratories take place in a collaborative context, with the support of teachers, finding time to transform training strategies through the active learning. Interaction will be the key of these approaches, as they will include lecturing, sharing of experience, analysis of case studies, individual or team work, assignments, discussions, presentations, brain storming and educational games.

General objective

The course aims to improve participants’s knowledge and practical skills in dealing with students at risk of early school leaving and using innovative methodologies in order to enhance their motivation and involvement.

Specific Objectives

Thanks to this project the participants will:

  • acquire knowledge about early school leaving’s situation in different European countries;
  • acquire knowledge and practical skills about innovative methodologies and tools oriented to understand and handle student’s emotions and discomfort;
  • practice and gain confidence with methodologies to motivate and involve students at risk;
  • acquire knowledge about best practices to face early school leaving in Europe, analyzing successful projects;
  • share experiences and points of view through intercultural exchanges built through a problem solving approach;
  • spend one week in Rome with travel, accommodation and meals all covered by Erasmus+ Programme.

Specific Objectives

The course aims to export techniques and methodologies in order to prevent the dropout phenomenon from school through the implementation of creative classrooms, the inclusion of educational games in traditional curriculum and of the Flipped methodology. The course will focus on:

The Methodology

The course is born from the exploitation of the Project: Master model to gain time in your classroom – “Gain time”, that is a KA2 strategic partnership approved in 2014 from the Spanish National Agency, in which ERIFO was partner. Workshop and laboratories will be the key of the training course.

Who We Are

 

ERIFO is an accredited VET provider, authorized by the Region Lazio (resolution by Lazio Region n. B06642 date 25/09/2012). It is also accredited to the Ministry of Education for the lifelong learning of staff school, for both traditional and distance-learning courses.
ERIFO’s mission is to contribute to the reinforcement of Vocational Education Training system at Local, National and European level to ensure the development of human capital and to respond to the ever-growing needs and demands of the labour market. ERIFO realizes training courses for employed, unemployed and professional adults.
The topics for which ERIFO is accredited are: educational services, social and health services; eco-environmental services; services for the publishing industry; IT services; Event management. ERIFO is especially specialised in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of skills, learning and VET programmes, with an expertise in terms of interfacing between VET, employment and employability, enterprise and cultural Learning.

ERIFO has recently obtained the accreditation as “Body providing career guidance, professional counselling and information services” (resolution by Lazio Region n.
G10589 date 23/07/2014 – employment specialist services; resolution by Lazio Region n.G12701 date 09/09/2014 – employment mandatory services), and it is going to operate as provider under the Youth Guarantee Programme during the years 2014-2017.

ERIFO is supporting young people and adults into employment, education and new  business creation through apprenticeships and VET as well as through such services as educational guidance, help desk and support for the development of new business ideas.

ERIFO is engaged in providing VET courses for employed and unemployed, professionals and teachers, both in classroom environment and at a distance (E-Learning). In addition, ERIFO is currently delivering specific assistance services to the organizations of its own Network, for accessing national and EU funding (especially in VET and business sector). ERIFO and its leading staff have more than 13 years of experience in the lifelong learning sector in Italy and Europe, and an extensive portfolio of project works in relation to quality assurance, evaluation and EU transnational projects (i.e. ex Art. 6, Equal, Erasmus – Grundtvig – Comenius – Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus +).
